🎃 Mom’s Check-In: Dollar Tree, Back-to-School… and HALLOWEEN?! 🎃

So today I popped into Dollar Tree just to casually see if they had any fun back-to-school stuff—maybe a cute folder, some novelty erasers, or a pack of markers that don’t smell like regret. You know, normal July mom things.

But y’all. Before I could even get to the school supplies, I was hit with an unexpected plot twist:

Halloween. Decor. Everywhere. 👻🕷️🕸️

I walked that aisle three times, going through all five stages of seasonal confusion. I mean—TOO EARLY. It’s still 95 degrees and my flip-flops are melting to the pavement! But also…

YES. GIMME. IT’S MY FAVORITE HOLIDAY.

I’m seriously torn between yelling “calm down, Dollar Tree!” and throwing a plastic skeleton and glittery bat garland into my cart while humming the “Monster Mash.”

I go way overboard for Halloween every year. I’m talking trunk-or-treat strategy sessions that look like I’m solving a cold case—except instead of an evidence board with red string, I’ve got a Google calendar and a 3-page checklist.

The girls each have at least three costumes: one for school, one for trunk or treat, and one for Halloween night—where we go full-family costume in our neighborhood, which gets 100-150 treaters. It’s basically our Super Bowl.

And let’s be honest… I’m also dreaming of cooler weather. I cannot WAIT for the moment I can step outside without instantly bursting into flames like a vampire on a beach vacation.

Anyway, I did grab some cute pencil cases and folders, but you better believe I also left with a spooky sign and a tiny witch hat for Nugget. Because if you think I won’t put that dog in costume number four, you clearly don’t know me. 😎🐾🧙‍♀️
