Mom Hack: Let ChatGPT Help Carry the Mental Load

I’m not suggesting you spend an hour every night preparing for tomorrow.

A reminder that says:

DENTIST — 10 MINUTES

is not particularly helpful if I needed 25 minutes to drive there.

The appointment isn’t always what I need help remembering.

It’s everything surrounding it.

What time do we need to leave?

What else is happening that day?

Is something stacked right next to carpool?

Do I have three things happening tomorrow that I haven’t thought about yet?

That’s why I like looking ahead.

The Hack

If you’ve connected your calendar to ChatGPT, ask it to look at the next few days rather than waiting for each event to sneak up on you.

Then Use What It Finds

If tomorrow has an appointment, set your leave alarm.

If Thursday has Spirit Day, find the shirt.

If Saturday has a birthday party, order the gift.

The point isn’t to create another schedule.

The schedule already exists.

The point is to stop discovering everything right before it happens.
