That looks like one thing.

For Mom, it might mean:

Find school shirt.

Wash school shirt.

Discover school shirt no longer fits.

Order school shirt.

That’s why I don’t just look at what’s happening.

I look at what each event creates.

The Hack

Once a week, scan the next seven days.

For every school event, ask:

Does this require me to:

BUY something?

BRING something?

WEAR something?

SIGN something?

PAY something?

PACK something?

PREP something?

CHANGE transportation?

That’s where the surprise chaos lives.

Example

Calendar:

Friday — Field Trip

Mom version:

Tuesday — Sign form.

Wednesday — Check class shirt.

Thursday — Pack disposable lunch.

Friday — Leave normally.

Now Friday doesn’t arrive with four jobs attached to it.
